Our plans are quite possibly the hardest thing for us to let go of in this life. They surround all that we hope to accomplish and can cause great motivation. Unfortunately, when our plans do not take into account God’s sovereign will, we find that they lead to destruction, sin, and ultimately death as we seek the riches of this world. 

 Adhering to God’s plan requires a transformation of the way we think. We are told in His word not to worry about what we need, because He already knows and will provide. We are also instructed to store our treasures up in Heaven, not on this earth. There is nothing wrong with wanting nice things, but this must never take priority over our God. As our focus is diverted away from the riches of this world, our new focus must be set on His spiritual riches. 

We must learn to trust in the Lord with all our heart, for just as the Heavens are higher than the earth, His ways and thoughts are higher than our own. Because of this simple truth, God is fully aware of our heart’s desires, which are promised to us when we delight ourselves first in Him. Let me encourage you today to adhere to His plan. He knows what you need, and when your plans are aligned with His will for you, you will find the blessing and favor of God in all aspects of life.
